Energetics: Warming

Much loved in teas and other formulations, but most often used for external cold care. Used in medicinal balms and rubs for colds, congestions, coughs, and in baths and showers as a decongestant as well. Also used for its scent and ability to soothe and relax. 

Safety: Eucalyptus should not be used during pregnancy or lactation; caution is advised for use by children and adolescents under 18, and use in children under 30 months of age is contraindicated due to the risk of the laryngospasm, which can be triggered by the plant’s volatile oil, cineole
